Hello From The Sunshine State!

Okay, so Monday I put my two weeks in to my boss and that I start my new job in 2 weeks (totally excited!) and her boss told her to still have me come to our annual sales meeting in Tampa, FL. ( I know…. Such a tough life). So anyways, I’ll be down here for the next couple of days just eating, drinking and being merry! Tomorrow on the agenda is team building. I know we are going to Bush Gardens and I hear after we break up into teams, the team with the most points wins… Oh, how do you earn points you ask??? By riding roller coasters of course. More on that tomorrow! Good night!!!!

Just got to Tampa!

Deja Vu?

So Do you have rituals to get ready every morning? I certainly do. I do the same thing every single day. I know when I am doing my hair and the clock says 6:42 instead of the usually 6:34, I am running late! Here is what my typical daily ritual looks like.

I collect all my stuff from the bathroom and then park right infront of the mirror and sit in front of it to get ready. And this is what I see behind me while Im getting ready….

Murphy is always so sleepy in the Morning. That lazy bum! :)

Are there any certain things you make sure you do every day?

I AM ALIVE!!!!!!

So much has happened to me since I gushed about my friday favorites. I think I will just go in order. Friday on my drive home from work, I got a job offer for a company I had been interviewing with. Its a big step up for me and I am veryyy excited to be starting there in TWO WEEKS!

Then, I took Dave to see Marc Ryan at Morty’s Comedy Joint on the Northside of Indy on 96th Street. If you haven’t been I highly recommend it! It is a really nice big area and the best part is that it’s SMOKE FREE!!! Woo hoo. So, I may or may not had a few too many of these and started acting a little silly, but it was a great time and all the comedians were hilarious.

Then that Brings me to Saturday, Holy Errands!!! I ran all over the place to pick up things for the wedding, to go grocery shopping and to just run errands that I always push off to do until the weekend. Do you like to do your errands after work or wait until the weekend??

So I sometimes like to stop in to World Market just to look around. If youre not familiar, they have everything from glassware to furniture to groceries to booze to jewlery. I love it so much because its such a hodge podge of products wtih worldly influences. You never know what you’ll find there and that’s why I think its so exciting. One thing I was looking for was possible furniture for our back patio. We are also in the beginning stages of turning Dave’s Den and “Dressing Room” (I call it that, not him) into a Man Cave. Dave keeps telling how every man must have his own room. I must be crazy for not realizing that!! ;) So anyways, I have been on the look out for an affordable sectional that would fit into his cave I was so excited when I found this piece!! $600 for a brand new sectional?! Count me in! Now if only I had $600 lying around….

So then, after a LOOONG day of me running all the errands and Dave doing nothing playing golf with his buddies, we met a couple of our friends out to try a new restraunt. Scottys Lake House is a new Scottys reatraunt on Geist. It is a Burger and Fry joint and I was not dissappointed. There burgers were soo juicy and their fries came with three different types of dipping sauces! Yummmmm-O!

So when Sunday morning rolled around I bummed it in bed for about two hours. Do you ever do that? You wake up but your not really ready to start the day yet? We usually drink coffee and talk or bring our laptops in the bed. After being bums we decided today was the day…Time to register. We registered at Crate and Barrel and Macys. I have to admit, at first I was really overwhelmed, but then I was really getting in to it. Dave says, he knew he lost control of our registry when he saw me register for a Martha Stewart Deviled egg carrier! A MUST for any BBQ! What can I say?! I got clicker happy!

So Hands down, the best part of the weekend was Murphy Man’s Birthday! We went to a local Dog Bakery called Three Dog Bakery and let him pick out a piece of cake for his specail 2nd birthday. My sister and her fiance came over to cook out and celebrate. Of course we sang to Murphy and let him dig in! I think it was total treat overload b/c his little tongue was going crazy!! He was in HEAVEN!

Well, I hope you all are having great start to your week!

Friday Favorites!

So Fridays are obviously my favorite day because they are the end of the work week and the beginning of the weekend. WOOO HOOO!!! But here are some of my other favorites right now…My apologies in advance, this list is about to get RANDOM!

JBRN-1475 901 Legging in Olympia, jbrandjeans.comFirst, I love my J Brand Jeans!!!! ooookay, so they aren’t technically Jeans, They are actually called leggings. But here is my stance on leggings. If you are famous or are toothpick thin, MAYYYYBE you can get away with wearing leggings as pants; emphasis on the maybe. But us normal folk, what do we do if we want to be in comfy leggings and wear them as pants??! Well, J Brand has heard our cries and ever so sneakily, made us leggings IN DISGUISE! They feel like leggings, but they look like jeans!! WHAAA?! Doesnt it blow your mind?!!! These pants are complete with belt loops, butt pockets and a zipper fly!. So, obviously you can understand why I love them soooo much. Dress em up, dress em, you can just go crazy with them!! And yes I have a shopping problem (at least I can admit it!) I went ahead and bought these in a denim blue AND in black! Check them out!!

Okay, so I have pants to wear, but what on top you ask? Well, that leads me to my next favorite! I simply LOOOOOVE Forever 21 Fabulous Finds! I mean come on, we all know that sometimes Forever 21 can be hit and miss and their stuff doesnt ALWAYS look that nice. But if you know what to look for you can snag some pretty great stuff! I mean look at this top! The price tag on this piece? $9.50!!! (yes, yes, I bought it in black and green!!) It can be alll yours by clicking here.

Okay, now that I’ve got my fashion favorites out of the way, Here is another thing that is a favorite of mine. I simply love reusing old furniture and making it into a great, fresh, new piece. So, when I saw this article posted on Kate’s Bargain Blog I fell in LOVE. How cool is this project. Basically you just spray the underside of your glass whatever color you want and then spray paint your iron and you have a totally new item! Here is a before and after!

 [after.jpg]

Dont you just love it? I cant wait to try it on one of my dated coffee tables. In fact, I almost completely gave up on that crappy old table and got rid of it, but NOT NOW!!

(I’ll post pics of my table project as soon as I do it…which lets be honest, it might be a couple months. I am the worlds worst procrastinator!!!)

Okay, Now my final Friday favorite! So, Im not going to lie, ever since I got engaged, I have totally be in the world of wedding planning. My co workers probably expect to see something wedding related on my computer when they walk by; they are probably shocked if they see actual work being done on my computer, but I digress. So lately I’ve been thinking alot about centerpieces. My wedding is in November and being held in an industrial type building that I would compare to a SoHo style loft. The direction i was going in is floating candles and sticks! These are some of my favorite ideas.

UMMMM TOTES EXCITED!!!

UMMMM TOTES EXCITED!!!

My man Murphy.

I Fought The Class and The Class Won!

Okay, so last night I went to my second attempt at Body Combat. Body Combat is one of the many classes that is offered by my gym Lifestyle Family Fitness. Basically these classes are created by a fitness Organization called Les Mills and if you want to teach their classes you then have to get certified in order to do so. They are ahhh-mazing and you burn alot of Calories. If you want to know more about all the classes, including where they are offered, click here.

Sooo annnnnyways, Body Combat is a mix of Tae-Bo and crack! Its alot of Karate, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing. I was dripping when I got out of the class and I looooved it! I totes recommend.

In other news, I started my new book Lost Symbol by Dan Brown and I’m really digging it right now. I pretty much read the whole night. It was storming outside real bad, and nothing is better than being snuggled up in your bed with a good book when it is nasty outside. It was perfection.

A Case of the Wednesdays?

So I’m sure everyone has heard the term “somebody is having a case of the Mondays” but for some reason today Im having that “Monday” feeling. Its gross out and I am BORED at work! Or at least I was until I decided to start surfing….web surfing that is.

Two glorious things got me out of my Monday-ish funk I was in this morning. The first one?

American Eagle is having 30% off of all their clearance items! And I snagged a pair of these cute flats

And Next, I got a GREAT idea for reception decor or (if youre not planning a wedding) a really cute piece of room decor! Right here Obviously in a room you would do it on a much smaller scale and it would look like a little glass mobile. Perfect for a baby’s room or a den!

I love getting the creative juices flowing, makes me a much happier person, and I need alot of happy right now because outside my window at work is just plain gloomy :(

Well Im off to do a little bit more work and then it will be time to hit the GYM!!!

My First Post

Mischevious Murphy!

Hello all,

I figured in my first post I would just take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Allie and I currently live in the Indianapolis area. I am 25 years old and definately experiencing my quarter life crisis of trying to figure out who I really am and who I really want to be. I majored in Fashion Merchandising from Ball State University and currently have a job in that field. I am the owner of a spunky little rescue dog named Murphy and the Proud Fiance of my Boo, Dave.

In addition to planning a wedding, I also love to scrap book, cook ( I try to keep the cooking healhty through the week and make really fun splurges over the weekend), work out(trying to keep the work outs fun and exciting is a lot of, well….work!), decorate and remodel our new house we bought (I love fun house projects!) and bargain shop!! I never brag about how much I spent on things, I only brag about how much I saved!!

I feel like with so much going on in my life, how could I possibly just keep this blog focused on one subject. Follow me, if you dare, as I journey through my twenties, trying to keep it all together!!
